UDHW Unvented hot water systems Overview
This course is designed to enable plumbing and heating engineers to confirm their competence in the design, installation and service/maintenance of unvented hot water storage systems. Candidates will also gain an understanding of central heating and hot water storage systems design and installation issues as they relate to energy conservation issues under Part L1 of the Building Regulations.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is aimed primarily at practising plumbers and heating engineers who already have basic knowledge of the requirements of hot and cold water systems and central heating systems.
Pre-requisites
No previous knowledge or qualification is required for the initial assessment, however it is recommended that candidates undertake Legionella or WRAS prior to attending this course.
Please note that proof of previous qualifications is required for the reassessment course to confirm your booking.
What topics will it cover?
Requirements of G3 of the Building Regulations and how to comply
Identify typical faults associated with the installation or maintenance of unvented systems
Understand the requirements of Part L1 to complete a range of assessment tests to confirm their competence in points 1-3
How long will the course take?
1 day
Initial – one day course / Reassessment – half day course
Is there an exam?
Initial Assessment – theory exams and practical assessment.
Reassessment – theory exams only.
What books will I need?
A training manual is used to support the course and the manual can also be used as a reference document for use after the course.
How much will it cost?
Initial £210+VAT reassessment £189+VAT including training, assessment and certification fee.
