Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Our Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is a one-day qualification designed to give learners the essential skills and confidence to act in a first aid emergency. It meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.
This course provides both knowledge and practical training, ensuring participants can respond effectively to a range of workplace first aid situations.
Who is this course for?
This course is ideal for anyone identified in a workplace first aid needs assessment as requiring training as an Emergency First Aider. It is suitable for low-risk environments, or as support to fully qualified First Aiders in larger or higher-risk workplaces.
What will you learn?
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of a First Aider.
- Assess, manage, and report an incident.
- Provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty (breathing and not breathing).
- Recognise and treat workplace injuries such as bleeding, burns, and choking.
