Course Overview
This Level 3 FAA Award in Paediatric First Aid is designed for individuals with professional responsibility for the care of babies and children. The course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently and effectively in a range of paediatric first aid emergencies.
It meets the requirements set out by OFSTED and EYFS for first aid training in early years settings.
Who Should Attend?
This course is ideal for:
- Nursery and early years staff
- Teachers and teaching assistants
- Childminders and nannies
- Parents and carers with formal childcare responsibilities
Learners must be 16 years of age or older at the time of certification.
A minimum Level 1 in literacy is recommended to complete the written assessment.
Course Duration
🕒 The course can be delivered in two formats:
- 2 full days
- 4 evening sessions (typically 3 hours each)

The course covers a wide range of essential paediatric first aid topics, including:

Assessment & Certification
📋 Assessment includes:
- Ongoing practical observation throughout the course
- Multiple-choice theory test at the end
✅ Successful learners will receive a Highfield-accredited Level 3 certificate, valid for 3 years.
📢 Results are typically notified within 2 weeks of course completion.
