The Details

Qualification: Safety, Health and Environment Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard

Duration: Typically 18–24 months (including End Point Assessment)

Delivery: Live online classroom delivery with tutor support, alongside workplace experience

Assessment: Portfolio of evidence, knowledge assessments, and End Point Assessment (EPA)

Certification: Apprenticeship Standard certificate and progression towards IOSH membership

Progression Opportunities

  • Progress into roles such as Health & Safety Advisor or SHE Officer
  • Achieve IOSH Technical Membership (TechIOSH)
  • Continue onto higher-level health and safety qualifications
  • Develop further into training roles (e.g. AET qualification to deliver H&S training)

Costs

  • This is a government-funded initiative: Apprentices are not required to pay for their training

  • Employers recruiting a 16–21 year old Apprentice are exempt from the employer contribution
  • Employers receive a £1,000 government incentive for Apprentices aged 16–18
