✅ What Does a Leader in Adult Care Do?
A Leader in Adult Care is responsible for the overall performance, safety, and culture of a care service.
This may include roles such as:
- Registered Manager
- Deputy Manager
- Unit Manager
- Assistant Manager
As part of the leadership team, you will:
- Oversee care delivery to ensure services are safe, effective, and person-centred
- Guide staff and develop a values-based team culture
- Ensure compliance with established regulations and quality standards
- Lead with confidence when supporting individuals with complex needs
- Promote ethical practice, inclusion, and wellbeing at all levels
In addition, you’ll become a key influencer in shaping care quality and staff development.
Qualification Awarded
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care
This is equivalent to a foundation degree and prepares you for senior leadership roles within adult social care.
Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship – Course Details
- Duration: 18 months, plus 3 months for the End Point Assessment (EPA)
- Delivery: One-to-one training in the workplace
- Progress Tracking: Through OneFile, our electronic portfolio system
- Functional Skills: Support is provided in English and maths (if not already achieved at Level 2)

- Total cost: £7,000
- Employer contribution: £350 + VAT
- 100% government funding for employers with under 50 staff hiring apprentices aged 16–21
