Installation/Maintenance Electrician Level 3 Apprenticeship
The Installation/Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised Level 3 programme, widely regarded as a ‘gold standard for green skills’.
This apprenticeship prepares learners to install, test, and maintain electrical systems in industrial, commercial, and residential environments. Apprentices work with low voltage electrical systems (up to 1000V AC or 1500V DC) across a range of settings — from construction sites to residential properties and communal buildings.
In addition to core installation skills, apprentices develop expertise in:
- Installation and commissioning of new systems
- Maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic equipment
- Working with automated systems and production equipment
Many qualified electricians progress into self-employment or establish their own businesses.
Green Apprenticeship Recognition
