The Green Skills Bootcamp offers a fantastic opportunity for practising electricians looking to upskill in the growing renewable energy sector. Delivered at a highly competitive price, this intensive 10-week programme (one day each week over a 10 week period) includes three essential courses designed to expand your expertise and career opportunities.

The Details

Certification: EAL Level 3 awards in each course

Qualification: EAL Level 3 Awards in Solar PV Installation, EV Charging Installation, and Electrical Energy Storage Systems

Duration: 10 weeks (one day per week)

Delivery: Classroom and practical hands-on training

Assessment: Practical assessments and portfolio of evidence for each course

Course Structure

Participants complete all three courses:

  1. EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systems
  2. EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Points
  3. EAL Level 3 Design, Install & Commission Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS)

Please note: full participation in all three courses is required. Partial enrolment is not available.

  • Practising electricians aged 19 or older
  • Individuals looking to upskill in renewable energy
  • Candidates who have not participated in a Green Skills Bootcamp earlier this year

What You’ll Learn

  • Inspection, testing, and certification in line with BS7671

Completion Requirements

  • Evidence of increased responsibilities (new job description, employer letter, or project plans)
  • Employer feedback form to demonstrate application of skills
  • Coaching and mentoring from employers based on learning outcomes

Costs & Employer Contributions

  • SMEs (<250 staff): 10% contribution (~£269 + VAT)
  • Large Employers (250+ staff): 30% contribution (~£807 + VAT)

Additional Requirements

Provide evidence of being 19 years or older

Solid understanding of the latest edition of BS7671

Proficiency in inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations

Sign a statement of competence prior to enrolment
