Course Overview
This EAL Level 3 EV Charging Points course is designed for qualified electricians, designers, supervisors, and managers who are responsible for, or involved in, the design, installation, and certification of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment.
The course covers key requirements for safely installing and maintaining EV charging systems in line with current industry standards and regulations.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is ideal for:
- Practicing electricians looking to expand into the EV charging sector
- Supervisors, managers, and designers involved in the planning or oversight of EV installations
A statement of competence is required to confirm readiness for the course.
Candidates must be competent in inspection, testing, and certification of electrical installations and have up-to-date knowledge of the current edition of BS 7671.
Entry Requirements
To enrol, candidates must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be a qualified, practicing electrician and hold one of the following:
✅ Completed Installation Electrician Apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group
✅ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services (Experienced Worker)
✅ Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services
✅ Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings or Experienced Worker equivalent
✅ EAL Level 3 Building Services Engineering – Electrotechnical Installation
✅ ECS Gold Card (Domestic Electrician), JIB Electrician, or Approved Electrician Card
✅ Equivalent historic qualifications

Delivered one day per week over two weeks (9:00am – 4:00pm)
