This EAL Level 3 Installation course is designed to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to be able to safely install, commission and hand-over small scale solar photovoltaic systems in line with statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice.

The Details

Qualification: EAL Level 3 Award in the Requirements for the Installation of Small-Scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
Duration: 4 days total (9:00am – 4:00pm) – 3 days classroom, 1 day practical and assessments
Delivery: Face-to-face, classroom and practical sessions
Assessment: Online multiple-choice exam and practical assessment
Certification: EAL Level 3 certificate issued on successful completion
Materials Provided: Course portfolio and training materials; candidates must bring access to IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and IET On-Site Guide

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a qualified practicing electrician holding one of the following:
      Installation Electrician Apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group
      Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
      Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
      Level 3 Electrotechnical Services (Experienced Worker)
      Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings or Experienced Worker equivalent
      EAL Level 3 Building Services Engineering – Electrotechnical Installation
      Equivalent historic qualifications
      ECS Gold Card (Domestic Electrician), JIB Electrician, or Approved Electrician Card
  • Have up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671 and inspection, testing and certification procedures
  • Provide a signed statement of competence
