Overview

This 4-hour qualification provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Learners will recognise and manage stress.

Who is this course aimed at?

This qualification meets the requirements for training first aiders in those organisations that have identified that staff need to be trained to this level within their first aid needs assessment.

How long will the course take?

1 DAY

Is there an exam? This qualification is assessed though a written assessment paper and the practical demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health. Learners must successfully pass both parts of the assessment to be awarded the qualification.

When will I know if I've passed?

Candidates will be put through a written assessment, as well as a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a NUCO certificate from the Awarding Organisation First Aid Awards Ltd. You will be notified of your results within 2 weeks.
