Full job description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Accountancy Tutor to join our team.
As part of our Business and Professional Curriculum team, you’ll lead the delivery and development of our accountancy provision, helping learners achieve their qualifications, build successful careers and develop the skills employers need.
You’ll combine high-quality teaching, learner support, employer engagement and business development, helping us grow and strengthen our accountancy offer.
What you’ll do
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality accountancy teaching and assessment.
- Support learners to make strong progress, achieve their qualifications and progress into employment or further learning.
- Monitor learner performance and intervene early where additional support is needed.
- Maintain high standards of quality, compliance and professional practice, including AAT and awarding-body requirements.
- Build strong relationships with employers and ensure training reflects their skills needs.
- Represent Focus at employer meetings, events and professional networking opportunities.
- Identify and develop new employer, learner and commercial opportunities.
- Contribute to curriculum development, new programmes and improvements to our accountancy offer.
- Share your professional expertise and good practice with colleagues.
What we’re looking for
- Strong occupational knowledge and experience within accountancy.
- The skills and knowledge required to deliver relevant accountancy programmes.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills.
- The ability to engage, motivate and develop learners.
- Confidence building relationships with employers and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisation and digital skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and developing provision.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, quality and professional standards.
- Relevant accountancy and teaching/assessment qualifications, or a willingness to achieve them where required.
AAT or other relevant professional membership/qualifications are desirable.
