The qualification covers five key areas of end of life care:
- Understanding the principles of end of life care and support – Develop your knowledge of the principles and approaches involved in providing effective end of life care.
- Person-centred care in end of life practice – Understand the importance of providing care that respects an individual’s needs, wishes, choices, dignity and preferences.
- Dementia in end of life care – Understand the impact of dementia and the considerations when providing end of life care to individuals living with dementia.
- Providing support when working in end of life care – Develop your understanding of how to provide appropriate support to individuals and those around them during end of life care.
- Loss and grief within end of life care – Understand how loss and grief can occur and the impact they can have on individuals, families and those providing care and support.
