Role Summary

Focus Training are looking for experienced electricians or electrical trainers to join us as part time teachers delivering bespoke electrical technical and green skills courses in a training centre local to you.

We’re ideally looking for passionate industry experts who would like to come off the tools a couple of days a week, or who are retiring and are looking for something part time to keep busy and pass on their knowledge and expertise to the next generation.

The successful candidate/s will join our growing commercial team, delivering courses such as 2391 Test & Inspect, 2396 Design, Electric Vehicle Charging, Solar PV Installation,18th Edition and more at one or possibly two of our centres.

You will be based out of the closest centre to your home, but may be requested to teach in another nearby centre from time to time. Travel from your home centre to your secondary centre will be paid for at 55p per mile.

This position will ideally suit an experienced electrician with plenty of enthusiasm for providing industry-leading training at the South West’s most recognised provider of specialist Electrical training.

  • Teaching existing commercial courses such as:
    • Electric Vehicle Charging
    • Solar PV
    • Battery storage
    • 2391 Inspecting and Testing
    • 2396 Design
    • 18th Edition

Key Requirements

A teaching and assessing qualification will be desirable, but not essential as full training will be given.

If you don’t already hold a Level 3 testing qualification, JIB Card, (Electrician Grade minimum) and an assessor award we can arrange and fund this training as part of your induction process.

The successful applicant will need to be qualified to NVQ Level 3.
Extensive industry experience is required, with a minimum of 5 years on the tools.
Driving license and own car essential – Full mileage paid at 55p per mile
An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
