Course Overview
The ECITB Leading a Team Safely (LaTS) course is a one-day workshop designed to provide an essential introduction to managing small teams within the context of health and safety in the engineering construction industry.
Focusing on the core principles of leadership—planning, implementing, and reviewing—the course places a strong emphasis on safe working practices and effective team management.
Who Is This Course For?
LaTS is ideal for supervisory staff who have responsibility for teams but may have had little or no prior training in:
- Health and safety responsibilities
- Leadership essentials
The course offers two registration routes:
- ECITB LaTS
- CCNSG LaTS – delegates must hold a current CCNSG Safety Passport

Training Delivery
This course is delivered face-to-face and includes:
- Trainer-led sessions
- Group discussions
- Shared experiences to promote learning
Assessment & Certification
- Assessment is through a multiple-choice knowledge test
- Successful delegates receive:
- ECITB LaTS card, or
- CCNSG LaTS card
- Certification is valid for three years
