EAL Level 3 Award in Installation of Small Solar Photovoltaic Systems Course

Overview

This EAL Level 3 Installation course is designed to equip candidates with the skills and knowledge to be able to safely install, commission and hand-over small scale solar photovoltaic systems in line with statutory requirements and relevant codes of practice.

Candidates must provide evidence that they are at least 18 years old

Entry Requirements

To enrol, candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a qualified practicing electrician, and hold one of the following:

✅ Completed Installation Electrician Apprenticeship with The Focus Training Group
✅ Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services (Experienced Worker)
✅ Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings or Experienced Worker equivalent
✅ EAL Level 3 Building Services Engineering – Electrotechnical Installation
✅ Equivalent historic qualifications
✅ ECS Gold Card (Domestic Electrician), JIB Electrician, or Approved Electrician Card

Note: Candidates must also have up-to-date knowledge of BS 7671, and inspection, testing and certification procedures. A signed statement of competence will be required.

Assessment

📘 Final Day Assessments Include:

  • Online multiple-choice exam
  • Practical assessment (arranged and completed on day five)

📢 Provisional results will be shared on completion, subject to internal quality assurance.
